ORANGE ROOFTOPS –The Orange Album LP (Sunnyboy66 Records)

In the early 2010s, the spirit of ’66 found a new home in Peoria, Illinois. Born from the digital trenches of the legendary garagepunk.com forums and deep-rooted friendships dating back to the late 80s, Orange Rooftops were never just another revival band. They were a high-octane collision of seasoned veterans ✪—T.J. O’Brien and the “two Jeffs” (Gregory and Phelps) from 90s garage-punk outfit 13 Frightened Girls, joined by lead guitarist Jason Eaton.

Their moody, minor-key originals and raw garage energy caught the ear of ultimate garage-rock taskmaster Jeff Conolly. Handpicked to become “The Orange Lyres,” the group backed Conolly at the legendary Firecracker 500 Festival in 2013, while sharing stages with icons like The Oblivians, Paul Collins Beat, and GONN.

Recorded in 2012 by drummer Jeff Gregory deep in the bowels of Peoria’s industrial warehouse district inside their rehearsal space (the “Batcave”), this record captures the raw, unreleased energy of those legendary sessions. Packed with authentic originals alongside ferocious re-imagined versions of tracks by The Dovers, The Keggs, The Rhythms, The Savages, The Groupies, The Hysterics, and the Blonde Bomber!

After more than a decade in the vault, this authentic garage punk document is finally getting the release it always deserved.✧

❤️ Our deepest respect and congratulations go out to these incredible musicians and human beings T.J. O’Brien, Jeff Gregory , Jason Eaton, Jeff Phelps for crafting a timeless piece of raw rock ‘n’ roll history.
